Hi! This is my doodle buddy, Ollie. Like many of you who own and care for a pet, we listen to them, provide their food and shelter, and love them. Mutual companionship and joy is the main reward. Wild animals, of course, are cared for by their own species and in order to survive must find food and safety in their homes.
So this is why I write what I write
To give voice to animals.
Today, many animal species are in peril: polar bears unable to find food for their cubs, sea animals dying from our plastic waste, and bees that pollinate our food continue to perish. We humans, directly or indirectly, are responsible for destroying the habitats of many animals and throwing our ecosystems out of balance. As the apex species of the earth, I believe we need to take greater responsibility.
I write about the people who love these animals.
People who dedicate their careers and lives to caring for and protecting them. By reading stories about their personal struggles, sacrifices and triumphs, I hope to inspire readers to better understand the need to help them and get involved.
